Genevieve Angela Gellings

Genevieve Angela Gellings, 84, of Eden, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. She was born January 21, 1932, in St. Peter, the daughter of Henry and Rose (Steffen) Freund.  On May 15, 1954, she married Arthur F. Gellings at St. Peter’s Church in St. Peter.  She and Art owned and operated Gellings Implement in Eden, which continues to be run by the Gellings family.  Genevieve was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, Eden.  She and Art took many trips with the New Holland Company and wintered in Florida for many years.  She greatly enjoyed the times spent with her family, especially the grandchildren. 




Survivors include her children, David of Eden, Ruth (Rick) Bode of Campbellsport, Tom (Sheryl), Don and Paul all of Eden, her sister-in-law Beth Gellings, her grandchildren Carrie Gellings (special friend Matt Huth), Matt (Jackie) Gellings, Andrea (Jason) Mueller, Adam Gellings (special friend Dorene Bruhn), Jeremy (Leah) Bode, Nick (Emily) Gellings, Jon Gellings, Melissa (Dave) Kutil, Nicole (Terry) Robinson, Holly (Charlie) Labarca and Kimberly Gellings (special friend Ben Pankratz), 11 great-grandchildren, her brother Victor (Esther) Freund, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary Freund, Edwena Freund, Agnes Freund, Jerome and Betty Gellings, Darlene and Neil Delorme, Mary and Orville Nimmer, family friend and caregiver Cindy Bonincontri, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.




She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, on December 20, 2004, her son Ken, her sisters Bernice Braun and Ruth Schmitz, and her brothers Elmer, Clarence, Melvin and Orville Freund.




Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6th 9:00 am until time of mass at Shepherd of the Hills Church, W1562 County Road B, Eden.  Memorials may be directed to Eden Fire Department First Responders.




Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 PM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church. Rev. Charles Wester will officiate and burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Eden.  Twohig Funeral Home is serving the family with online guestbook and condolences at www.twohigfunerals.com.
