Gerald H Simon

Gerald H Simon, 71, of Fond du Lac died July 30, 2014 at St
Francis Home after a lengthy illness. He was born July 12, 1943 in Fond du Lac,
the son of Felix and Beatrice (Flasch) Simon. After graduation from St. Mary’s
Springs High School he enlisted in the Air Force, spending the majority of his
four years of service on the Northern Island of Japan. He was always very proud
of his military service and supportive of veterans groups.

He worked in data processing for A C Nielsen in Fond du Lac
and for the City of West Allis. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and
a lifelong member of Holy Family Parish of Fond du Lac where served as a
greeter at St. Mary’s Church. He greatly enjoyed traveling throughout northern
Wisconsin and Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and also collecting
sports memorabilia.

He is survived by two brothers, James (Kathleen) and Donald
(Judith), two sisters, Ruth (Edward) Barnes and Mary (David) Beaster, all of
Fond du Lac, and sister-in-law Susan Simon of Watertown. He is also survived by
17 nieces and nephews to whom he was affectionately known as “favorite
uncle” for the good times they had with him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers,
John and Michael.

Visitation:  Family
will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Holy Family
Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Service:  A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at
Holy Family Church.  Burial will be in
Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Holy Family Parish and St Francis
Home, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac.

The family would like to thank all at St Francis Home who
provided compassionate care and concern for Jerry during the time he made his
home there.
