Gerald “Jerry” W. Adams

Gerald “Jerry” W. Adams, 86, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Hospice Home of Hope.

He was born on October 3, 1929, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, a son of Van and Esther Lenser Adams.

On October 5, 1957, he married Gertrude E. Schmidt at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.

Jerry served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was employed with Monarch Range in Beaver Dam and later at Mercury Marine.  He liked Wisconsin sports, enjoying the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers, and the Milwaukee Bucks.  He enjoyed yardwork, walking, and riding his bicycle.  Jerry was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Adams; three sons:  William Adams of Tuscon, Arizona, Steven Adams of Jefferson City, Missouri, and David (Lisa) Adams of Fond du Lac; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, LaVon (Gerald) Miller of Antigo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers:  Van, Jr. and Eugene.

VISITATION:  The visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1010 Adams Avenue, North Fond du Lac.

FUNERAL SERVICE:  The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at church with Rev. Thomas Behnke and Rev. Michael Kampman officiating.

Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Ledgeview Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church or Hospice Home of Hope.
