Geraldine (Gerry) Ruth Dehring
January 31, 1942 – January 11, 2018
Gerry was born on January 31st, 1942 to Leo
and Amalia Hagen in West Allis, WI. She
passed away peacefully on the 11th day of January after her long, 7
year battle with stage 4 lung cancer.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Marvin Dehring and their
three children – Dawn, Vicki and Todd. She is also survived by her brother
Bernard. Gerry was preceded in death by
her parents, Leo and Amalia Hagen, and brothers – Laverne, Marvin and Lyle and
sisters – Darlene and Evelyn.
A Special thanks to mom’s niece, Cora Lynn, for your
loving touch during mom’s transition.
Cancer does not care….Who it takes, Who it
hurts, or Honors or Loves.
It comes into your life and starts to break down the threads that hold
you together and you are left to see pieces of yourself slip away and dreams
fade……But in the end, the most AMAZING
thing happens – cancer loses its strength and grace appears. We
need to see it. We need to accept it. We need to go with it.
Grace & Love Win, NOT cancer.
Gerry will be missed deeply by her family, friends and
all the many lives she touched. We love
you mom and you will always have a Special place in each of our Hearts.
In keeping with mom’s wishes, there will be no
visitation or funeral service. Burial
will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agnesian
Hospice Hope.
