Gloria L. Beyer

Gloria L. Beyer, age 77, of Stockbridge, died on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at her home in Stockbridge. She was born July 17, 1937 in Fond du Lac, daughter of the late Vincent & Lenore (Schultz) Baker. She married William C. Beyer on September 24, 1955 and their wedding reception and dance was held in the room above what is now Capone’s in Pipe. Together, they made many memories and had both been members of the Calumet County Sno Trails. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1988. Gloria worked at Tecumseh in New Holstein until her retirement at the age of 60. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Sherwood, a quilters group, and the Sherwood Red Hat Society. In her free time, Gloria enjoyed gardening, baking, feeding & watching birds, quilting and crocheting. Most of the delectable desserts and hand made woven items created by Gloria were given to others to bless them beyond measure. She also spent Sundays cheering on, quite loudly, her Green Bay Packers with her beloved dog Muffin. Survivors include her children: Diane (Marvin) Leitner of McAllen, TX, William (Lynn) Beyer of Mercer, WI, Deb Beyer and her significant other, Larry Freund of Stockbridge, Brenda (Brian) Olson of Stockbridge; 10 grandchildren: Ashley (Sunny) Ahuja, Kyle (Cassie) Kettner, Angela Beyer, Nicole Renn, Michael (Amy) Vanden Boom, Joseph Vanden Boom, Eric (Nikki) Olson, Dan Olson, Laura Olson, Scott Olson; 13 great-grandchildren with 2 others arriving soon; a sister: Patricia Jones; a brother: Vincent “Joe” Baker; and a very special cousin: Shirley Helm. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother: Robert “Bob” Baker. Funeral service will be at 6:30 pm on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Sherwood with the Rev. Doug Holtz officiating. Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery.
