Gloria S. Kelroy

Gloria S. Kelroy, 66, of the Town of Byron passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at her home. She was born on April 5, 1951 in Emden, IL, the daughter of Christian Eldon “Bud” and Anna Clara (Kutz) Westen. Gloria was baptized at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Emden, IL. On November 19, 1977, Gloria married Thomas Kelroy in Emden, IL. 



They farmed in the Town of Byron and Gloria received an Associate Degree from MPTC. 



She worked for the UW-Fond du Lac Extension retiring in 2016. Gloria was a member of the Home and Community Education group, served as Byron Town Clerk, on the Fond du Lac Beautification Committee and was a 4-H Leader. She greatly enjoyed gardening, her flowers and traveling but most important was time spent with family, grandchildren and many good friends. 



Those left behind to cherish Gloria’s memory include her husband Tom, mother Anna Clara Westen, daughters Bridget (Tim) Schaumberg, Amanda (TJ) Veneris and Kristen (Tim) Nordberg, grandchildren Taylor and Hunter Schaumberg and Graham and Clara Nordberg, brothers Larry (Joyce) Westen and Clarke (Tammy) Westen, sister Rita (Larry) Haedicke, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Fred and Karen Kelroy, Barb Kelroy, Marlene and Chuck Bernhard and Diane and Dave Giese, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 



A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday October 8th at 6:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira (699 Milwaukee St). Rev. Michael Petersen will officiate and family inurnment will be Monday at St. John’s Cemetery, Byron. 



Visitation will be Sunday Oct. 8th from 2:00 PM until time of Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lomira. Memorials are appreciated to the Fond du Lac County Master Gardener Assoc, Byron Veterans Memorial, Sons of Zebedee Parish or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Emden, IL.
