Grace A. Boegel

Grace A. Boegel, 88, of St. Kilian (Town of Ashford), passed away peacefully at her home with her family gathered around her. Grace was born in Milwaukee on January 20, 1929; the daughter of Philip and Theresa (Kohler) Volm. At a young age, her family moved to St. Kilian area where she lived the rest of her life. Grace was a graduate of Kewaskum High School. On May 13, 1950, she married Raymond J. Boegel at St. Kilian Catholic Church and together they farmed the Boegel Family Homestead. Before marriage Grace worked as a waitress and a file clerk at West Bend Company and later worked in the deli at Piggly Wiggly, Campbellsport. But the job most important to her was raising her family. She often said, “my family is my life!”. Grace had a gentle spirit and a loving heart.

She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church (St. Kilian Chapel), and a member of the St. Mary’s Sodality and Catholic Financial Life. Grace enjoyed her garden, flowers, cooking, baking and her farmhouse. Many of us eagerly waited for her first rhubarb torte in spring! She loved playing games with her children and grandchildren, especially King’s Corner, Crazy Eight, Slap Jack, along with other card and Board games.

Those who will miss her dearly are daughters: Mary (Robert) Twohig, Dorothy (Richard) Leider, Margie (Ronie) Stommel, Cathy (Tim) Flood, Pauline (Gary) Runge and Geralyn Boegel; daughter-in-law Nancy Boegel, her sister, Betty Schrauth, grandchildren; Jerry (Vicky) Boegel, David Boegel, Michelle (Jeff) O’Connor, Beth (Christopher) Meece, Sarah (Dave) Olds, Mark (Tania) Wolf, Katy (Ron) Mihalko, Lisa (Jeff) Dickmann, Lori (Ashish) Gandhi, Andy Stommel, Gary Stommel (fiancee Barb), Connie Stommel (fiance Ben), Kristy Stommel, Carrie (Zach) Sand, Jacob Flood, Angela (Josh) Fischer, Zachary Runge (Lynne), Lucas , Abigail, Eleana Runge (David) and Anna Maurer, Casey (Cindy) Twohig, Kyle (Marci Danza) Twohig, Chelsea (Derek Gottlieb) Twohig; great grandchildren Josh, Brendon, Miranda, Logan, Olivia, Collin, Seth, Kendall, Hunter, Clayton, Quinn, William, Oliver, Taylor, Logan (Amanda), Isaac, Hannah, Adalynn, Graeson, Gillian, Tiegen, Drew, Tyler, Ethan, Luka, Pria, Dalton, Kali, Mo rgan, Nolan, Quinn, Liam, Ellie, Blakely, Lilli, Josie, Molly, Madilyn, Gabriella, great-great grandchild Scarlett, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and also the many granddogs in her family.
