Gregory J. Opatik

Gregory J. Opatik, 47, of
Fond du Lac, died on Friday, September 15, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital, in
Milwaukee, WI.

Greg was born October 9, 1969
in Ashland, WI.  He was the son of John
and Roberta Nohl Opatik.

Greg and his wife Janice
Klahn (Stanelle) were married with a few close friends to help them celebrate
on November 13, 2009.

Greg loved helping others
whenever he could.  Greg and his wife,
Janice, loved camping, fishing, watching Packer games and going for rides
around the county.

Greg’s illness kept him from
working the last year, but he loved going to work.  He spent many years in the HVAC field and the
last four years he was a welder fabricator at Manowske Welding in Fond du
Lac.  He made many friends there and
missed working with them.

Greg will be dearly missed by
his wife, Janice; his mother Roberta of Ashland; his children: Timothy Opatik
of Ashland, Joseph (Jessica) Roethig of Oakfield and his daughter Jessica
Opatik of Appleton; grandchildren: Carson, Lucas, Claire and Joey; step
daughter Laura (Erik) Unmuth of Waterford;
three sisters: Chris (Mark) Mageles of Maine, Sarah (Mike) Pully of
Ashland and Aerica (Mike) Bjurstrom of Luxemburg and a brother in law Dave
(Betty) Klahn of Fond du Lac; nieces and nephews: Michael, Megan and Jac of
Maine and Autumn of Nicholas of Ashland; many aunts, uncles and cousins as
well. Greg is also survived by his faithful four legged family members Charlie,
Baxter and Diesel.

Greg was waiting for a liver
transplant and due to complications was never able to receive one.  He was extremely grateful waiting for the
chance to become well again by the help of someone’s family who decided to be
an organ donor.

Greg was preceded in death by
his father, John, two nieces, paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather,
mother in law and a brother in law.
