Harry K. Barwind

Harry K. Barwind, 84, of Slinger passed away Tuesday April 1, 2014 at The Pavilion at Glacial Valley in Slinger. Harry was born on March 16, 1930 to Jacob and Lena Barwind in the Town of Polk in Washington County on a dairy farm owned and operated by the Barwind family. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Reformed Church of Jackson where he also attended Sunday School. Harry attended Polk Dairy School thru 8th grade and then he went to West Bend High School and graduated in 1947. He worked for Kruepke Trucking for several years and then served in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Harry then worked at Evinrude Motors in Milwaukee for 38 years from 1955 to 1993 when he retired. In retirement he worked delivering parts for Bob Fish. Harry enjoyed playing sheepshead and just talking with his friends. 

Harry is survived by his sister Gloria Bruesewitz and his nephew Scot Bruesewitz and his wife Mary Anne and their son Jared, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his father and mother and his brother-in-law Leroy Bruesewitz. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 5th at 3:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 350 S. Helena St. Campbellsport. Rev. Paul Cerny will officiate and inurnment will be in Peace Reformed Cemetery in Jackson at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
