Helen C. DeBruin

Helen C. (Hoehne) DeBruin, 87, of Fond du Lac, died on Monday, June 14, 2021, at her residence. She was born on June 17, 1933, in Neenah, the daughter of William and Clara (Probst) Hoehne. On May 14, 1955, she married James DeBruin in Neenah, where they spent 41 wonderful years together before his passing. Helen was an active member at Presentation Church, North Fond du Lac, where she was member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Ladies Aid. She volunteered countless hours at the church on various programs and especially the church festival. She loved to do crafts which included, plastic canvas, needle work and embroidery. Helen’s greatest love was for her children and grandchildren and now has been reunited with husband after 25 years.

She is survived by three children, Linda (Michael) Letz, Elizabeth Rick, and Margaret “Peggy” (Allan) Cleland; seven grandchildren, Mary (Zach) Letz, Ehrik (Lexi) Rick, Maggie (Dustin) Wilson, Forrest DeBruin, Ericka (Nathan) Stark, Samantha (Richard) Laycock, and Katie (Jacob) Kosloske; nine great grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Herman; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Paul DeBruin; brother, Carlton (Kathy) Hoehne; and two sisters, Carol (Roger) Woulf and Barbara Hoehne.

The visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A Liturgy of the Word will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will occur after the service with interment at Rienzi Cemetery at a later date.

In leu of flowers, donation can be made in Helen’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
