Helen Frances Berenz
Blessed on this earth 100 years, Helen Frances Berenz entered
into Eternal Life on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at her home. Helen was born in
Andrew F. and Marie T. (Hofman) Neuberger.
Helen attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and St. Mary’s
On September 27, 1939 she was united in marriage to Lyle J. Berenz in
resided all her life. She was employed
by the Fred Rueping Leather Company as a secretary before retiring to raise her
family. A lifelong member of St. Mary’s
Church and Holy Family Parish, Helen was a past participant in St. Mary’s
choir. She had a deep devotion to her
religion and her faith.
Helen is survived by her children, Julie Lewis of Mauston, John
(Peggy) Berenz of Fond du Lac, Jeff (Cathy) Berenz of Fond du Lac and Jo Ann
(Dr. Paul) Hankwitz of Shorewood; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Berenz of Fond du
Lac; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren, 2
step grandchildren, 4 step, great grandchildren. She is further survived by one
sister, Joan Ditter of
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Helen’s husband, Lyle, preceded her in death along with a son,
James Berenz, grandson, Mark Berenz and son-in-law, David Lewis. Also preceding her in death are her parents,
brothers, Bob and Leonard Neuberger; sisters-in-law, Dolores and Betty
Neuberger; brother-in-law, Clarence Ditter; in-laws, Ambrose and Alice Berenz,
and Christ and Helen Berenz.
Visitation: Her family will receive relatives and friends
at St. Mary’s Church,
Merrill Street
on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 10:00 until 10:45 AM.
Service: At 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in
Memorials are preferred and may be directed to the family in
her name.
