Helen M. Richter

Helen M. Richter, 94, died Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Adelaide Place in Fond du Lac. She was born in Fond du Lac on October 21, 1924, a daughter of James and Mary (Silah) Eckrosh. On April 3, 1948, Helen married Vernon M. “Bud” Richter at St. Patrick’s Church in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1984.

Helen was a secretary for Miller Construction and later worked at both Pranges and Younkers. She enjoyed playing bingo with her cousin and bingo partner, Betty Silah. Helen was a member of the Phoenician Daughters, the St. Patrick’s Altar and Rosary Society, and was a former volunteer at St. Agnes Hospital.

She is survived by three of her four children, a son Mike – deceased, and his children, Michelle (Steve) Dudash and children, Scarlet, Stella; and Lauren (Dr. Mike) Monroe, and their children, Madeline and Michael and step-daughter, Isabella; a daughter, Nancy (Denny) Rahn and children, Jenn (Lee) Wilke and their children, Sophia, Evelyn and Miles, and their son, Chris (Megan) Rahn and their children, Cooper, Max and Owen; a son, Jeff (Barb) and children, Anna (Nic) Kehl and their children, Sienna and Nolan, Joe Peebles, Eric (Haley) and Leah; and a son, Tom (Linda Messenger) and his children, Dan (Andie) and Sean. She is further survived her brother, Fred Eckrosh; cousin and special friend, Betty Silah; nieces, nephews, and other friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary; her husband, Bud; a son, Mike; and her sister, Vicki Reddish.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM, Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Ave. in Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church, beginning at 1:30 PM. Cremation has taken place and private family burial will occur in Calvary Cemetery.
