Ione B. Sook

Ione B. Sook, 83, of Fond du
Lac, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Agnesian Hospice
Home of Hope.

 

She was born on July 21,
1934, in Spencer, the daughter of the late Walter and Edna (Scheurmenn)
Wellman. Ione graduated from Goodrich High School in 1952. In 1955, Ione
married John Crossman, who preceded her in death in 1959. In 1960, she married
Sylvester Sook Sr. who also preceded her in death in 1979.

 

Ione was a longtime member of
Faith Ev. Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Ione worked for First Wisconsin Bank,
now US Bank, for 28 years before retiring in 1982. Ione was a member of the
Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary since 1988. She served as President,
Past President and Treasurer as well as Treasurer of the Eagles Anglers. Ione
was also an employee of the Eagles Club for 17 years until 2010.

 

She is survived by three
children: John (Lana) Crossman, Jerry Crossman and Joan (Randy) Bader; two
stepchildren: Clifford Sook and Rose Ann (Wayne) Morris; a special
step-grandson, Jesse (Kristi) Sook; a sister-in-law, Eva Wellman; 14
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to her parents
and husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Wellman and
Vernon Wellman; an infant sister, Phyliss Wellman; a stepson, Sylvester Sook
Jr. and her companion of  25 years,
Walter Nummeredor.

 

VISITATION:  The family will greet relatives and friends
from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017, at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel
& Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, and on Tuesday, August
22, 2017, at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, 55 North Prairie Road, Fond du Lac,
from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

 

SERVICE:  A memorial service will be held at noon on
Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael
Weigand officiating.

 

Inurnment will be in
Ledgeview Memorial Park.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be directed to Faith Ev. Lutheran Church.

compassion shown to Ione and family.
