James E. Williams

James Edwin Williams, 93, of Fond du Lac, died on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at his residence.

He was born on August 8, 1924, in Desoto, Missouri, the son of Clarence and Louise Bahr Williams. He graduated from Desoto High School. He served in the United States Army for four years, of which he was in and out of the hospital for 1 ½ years. On October 18, 1952, he married Florence Leona Thelke.

James enjoyed gardening and started with his own greenhouse in the spring of each year, and after seven years joined Haentze Floral where he worked for 24 years. He later worked at Tolibia Cheese Company and retired on February 6, 1987.

James was a member at Covenant United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening, reading, walking the dog, woodworking, going to plays and concerts.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Williams of Fond du Lac, his children: Daniel (Barbara) Williams of Reedsburg, JoAnn (Peter) Hinn of Fond du Lac, and Bonnie (Brad) Curran of Oshkosh, 12 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Richard in 1970 and his sister Ruth (John) Miller.

VISITATION: Friends may call on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 20 North Marr Street, Fond du Lac.

FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, with Rev. Joel Deaner-Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Ledgeview Memorial Park. American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75 will conduct military graveside services.
