James George Fryda

James George Fryda, 62, of Fond du Lac, formerly of St. Peter, passed away Saturday January 26, 2013 at Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born January 17, 1951 in Fond du Lac the son of George and Rosebelle Stenz Fryda.

On September 20, 1975 he married Sandra Jarvis at St. Peter Catholic Church.

For 19 years Jim was co-owner and manager of Dale and Jim’s Super Valu.  Subsequent to that, he was employed by ADVOCAP of Fond du Lac and Oshkosh.  Poor health brought about his retirement in 2003.

Jim was a member of Holy Family Parish.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, boating, canoeing, camping, arguing politics, the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers and spending time with his family.  His granddaughters were the love of Buppa’s life.  Jim was a very handy person who could construct or fix nearly anything.  He was loved by his Siberian huskies, Kimo and Emma.  He was a very kind and ethical person.

Jim is survived by his wife Sandy, two daughters, Jennifer Fryda and Stephanie (Bill) Kaiser of FDL; two granddaughters, Katherine Fryda and Savannah Kaiser; two sisters, Carol (Wayne) Wieber of St. Cloud, MN and Lynda (Dave) Washkoviak of Wautoma, WI; three brothers, David (Debbie) Fryda of FDL, Craig Fryda of FDL and Wayne (Casey) Fryda of Freedom, WI; his mother-in-law Edith Jarvis of FDL; sister-in-law Kathie (Jim) Pickart of FDL; brother-in-law Tim (Barb) Jarvis of Green Bay; and nieces and nephews, Matt (Amy) Wieber, Missy (Nate) Dittmar, David (Julie) Washkoviak, Dan (Robin) Washkoviak, Brian (Dani) Steiner, Jenny (Jimmy) Jaeger, Nick (Jess) Steiner, George Fryda, Mary Fryda, Erin Fryda, Jason (Angie) Pickart, James Jarvis, Michael Jarvis and Jane Jarvis.  Jim is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation:  Jim’s family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday January 31, 2013, 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., FDL.  There will also be visitation at St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Peter on Friday February 1, 2013 from 9:30 to 10:45 am.

Services:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday February 1, 2013, 11:00 am at St. Peter Church in St. Peter.  Cremation will follow the service.

The family would like to thank the staff of Harbor Haven-Sunrise Unit and Agnesian Hospice (especially Mary Ketterhagen) for the care and compassion given to Jim.

Memorials in his name may be directed to Huntington’s Society of America WI Chapter, Holy Family Parish, or Agnesian Hospice Hope.

Like Charlie Brown, Jim was a good man.  He will be sorely missed.
