James J. Schiller

James J. “Jimmy” Schiller, 57, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 surrounded by his family at the Fond du
Lac Lutheran Home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Fond du Lac on August
29, 1960, a son of Gerald and Mary Jean (Gutreuter) Schiller. Jimmy received an associate’s degree
from MPTC and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps (USMC).
Jimmy loved his family, especially his great-niece, Emerson Mae, who always brought a smile to his
face. It was a rare occasion to not see him in his western attire, especially with one of his larger than
life belt buckles. Jimmy was passionate about vehicles, building several, including a vintage Bugatti
that he built from the ground up. He was a regular at the “Stretch” in North Fond du Lac and had
worked at North Main Auto Body for a number of years.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Jean of North Fond du Lac; brother, Tony (Carol) Schiller of
Fond du Lac; niece, Becky (Mike) Huberty of Sheboygan; nephew, Brian Schiller of Sheboygan; a
great-niece, Emerson Mae Huberty; two aunts, Betty Lichtenwald and Marion (Dave) Sabel, all of
Fond du Lac; cousins and friends; and lastly, his nephew-dog, Lambeau. He was preceded in death
by his father, Gerald; uncle, Carl Lichtenwald; and his niece-dog, Nitschke
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Sacred Heart – Holy
Family Parish, 200 S. Peters Ave. in Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at
1:00 PM at the church. Cremation will follow the services. Private family burial will take place in
Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
The family wishes to extend their most sincere thanks to the staffs of the Agnesian Cancer Center,
