James Lee Nelson

James Lee Nelson, 80, passed away on Sunday, October 17th at Frontida Liberty House. He was born on January 29, 1941 to Carl and Antoinette (Courteau) Nelson in Wausau, WI.

Jim graduated from Wausau Senior High and earned a B.S. in Business from the University of WI – Milwaukee and a Masters in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.

Jim proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 4½ years. In 1968, he married Janet Kurth.

Jim was a member and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, playing cards, reading and watching sports on TV.

Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet; sons Steven and John of Fond du Lac and daughter Sarah of Rockville, MD; grandchildren Cate and Aaron; brothers Bob and Ron Nelson of Spokane, WA and sister Jean MacArthur of Ventura, CA.

Preceding Jim in death were his parents, sisters Delores “Shirley” Brantley, Annette “Carol” Kluck, and Joan Kluetz, brothers Erwin “Gary,” Charles, Byron and Jack.

Services: A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 21st at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 706 Minnesota Ave., North Fond du Lac at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:15 a.m. Jim will be laid to rest in Wausau, WI.

Jim’s family thanks Frontida Liberty House and Preceptor Hospice for their support and care.
