James M. Spetta

James M. Spetta, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2018, at the Atrium Post Acute Care nursing facility in Chilton, Wisconsin.



He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley M. Spetta, on November 30, 2017, and his son, Randall J. Spetta, in January, 2015.



James was born May 31, 1926, to the late James and Hildegard Spetta, in Grimms, Wisconsin. He joined the US Navy, April, 1944, and served honorably on the USS Enterprise for two years during World War II. He married Shirley Zarnoth in June, 1945, and they were married 72 years at the time of her passing.



He was a “Jack-of-All-Trades,” having been a welder at the shipyards, carnival worker, door-to-door salesman, furniture restorer, antique dealer, and auctioneer.



James is survived by his daughter, Linda Atkinson-Page, of Knoxville, TN, and daughter, Gail (Don) Rieder, of Fond du Lac. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.



Funeral services are set for 1:00pm on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Family and friends may call from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral home on the day of the service.
