Jane Irma Steinert

Jane Irma Steinert, 86, of Fond du Lac, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Hospice Home of Hope.

 She was born November 8, 1926, in Cook County, IL, the daughter of the late Reverend Robert and Irma Zuehlke Hoffman.  She graduated from Central High School, Sheboygan in 1946.

On October 19, 1963, Jane married Donald Steinert at First Methodist Church in Sheboygan.  She was employed with F.W. Woolworth and Annen Brake Service.   Jane was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending weekends up north in Minocqua, fishing, bird watching, going to the casino, and watching the Brewers.   In October, Jane & Don would have celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Survivors include her loving husband, Donald Steinert; her son, Robert (Christine) Steinert; two grandchildren, Steven and Stephanie Steinert; sister-in-law, Dorothy Retzlaff; brother-in-law, Arthur Wallander; sister-in-law, Dorothy Krayer; her dear friend, Joyce Kaderabeck; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her seven siblings: Eileen Cecil, Ione Hoffman, Leo (Nora) Hoffman, Robert (Marion) Hoffman, Roger (Ruth) Hoffman, Arthur Hoffman, and Mary Wallander; and a brother-in-law, Roger Retzlaff.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Steve Huff officiating.  The visitation will be on Saturday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.
