Janet R. Totzke

Janet R. Totzke, age 85, of Chilton, died   Saturday February 26, 2022, at Ascension Calumet Hospital in Chilton.  Janet was born December 30, 1936, daughter of the late Herbert and Ardyce (Luedeke) Brantmeier.  On November 12, 1955, she married Eugene Totzke at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stockbridge. Eugene preceded her in death on October 19, 2018. 

Janet worked many years as bakery manager for Econo Foods in Chilton.  She enjoyed baking Christmas cookies, making special dishes such as cherry dumpling soup, doing word search puzzles, cheering for the Packers, and time spent with family.  

Survivors include her children: Dennis (Lorie) Totzke, Malone, Darlene (Rich) Buechel, Chilton, and Diane (Patrick)McClone, Fond du lac; grandchildren: Christina (Mark) Lefeber, Paul Totzke (fiancée, Ashley Vanesky), Danielle (Mark) Breckheimer, Ben (Lauran) Buechel, Shannon (Mike) Graham, and Shawn (Kelsey)McClone;  great-grandchildren: Gracie, Lilly, and Laura Lefeber, Zander and Axl Totzke, Maverick, and Axel Breckheimer, Riley Graham, Landon and Liam McClone, and Arlo Buechel and baby Buechel on the way. Janet is further survived by a brother-in-law: Gary (Mary) Thiel, along with numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by a brother: James Brantmeier; sisters: Jeanie Thiel and Joelene Luniak;  nephew: Jay Luniak; and brother-in-law: Melvin (Evelyn) Totzke. 

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Ascension Calumet Hospital as well as Calumet County Hospice for their care, comfort, and compassion.  Special thanks to Deacon Dennis Bennin for his blessing and leading family prayers for Janet.

Wieting Family Funeral Home in Chilton is assisting the family with arrangements. Per Janet’s wishes, a private burial will take place at Rothmann Cemetery in Malone at a later date.
