Jeffrey J. Moehn

Jeffrey J. “Jeff” Moehn, age 53, died at his home on February 18, 2022, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He was born June 14, 1968, son of Arthur and Doris Moehn. He graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1986, and married Michelle Beil on April 4, 1992, at St. Augustine’s Church in Chilton. Together, they had three amazing daughters: Marissa, Jenna, and Mariah.

Jeff worked as a plumber in De Pere between 1992 and 1999 and earned his Master Plumber license in 1999. In 2000, he founded Moehn Plumbing and ran a successful plumbing business for 17 years. In November 2017, he accepted a position as Master Plumber at Green Bay Correctional Institution.

Jeff’s biggest accomplishment was raising three beautiful daughters. His biggest pleasure in life was watching them play sports and having family game nights and campfires. He taught his children the value of hard work and the importance of being an active member in the community. He enjoyed hunting and loved playing Texas Hold’em poker with friends, and even won a spot at the World Series of Poker in 2010.

Jeff was a member of the Chilton Fire Department from 2000 until 2017 where he earned the rank of Lieutenant. He was also a member of the Chilton Lions Club (he especially enjoyed being a part of the annual Thanksgiving Day Express), and the Good Shepherd Parish Knights of Columbus.

In April 2021, Jeff was elected Alderperson of Wards 2 & 5 for the City of Chilton. When he ran for the position, his main goal was to encourage city officials to pass an ordinance allowing people to operate ATV/UTVs on city streets. His goal was achieved, with the ordinance taking effect February 1, 2022.

Jeff will be deeply missed by his wife of almost 30 years, Michelle; his children: Marissa (fiancé Taylor Huenink), Jenna (fiancé Brok Gauthier) and Mariah (special friend Dakota Kinnard); his unborn granddaughter due in June; his mother: Doris Moehn; his siblings: Sheryl (Tom) Kiesner, Daniel (Jennifer) Moehn, Keith (Rose) Moehn, Bruce (Tina) Moehn, Brian (Connie) Moehn; Michelle’s parents: Clifford Beil & Sandra Schuh; nieces and nephews: Amy (Matt) Loose & Kim (Matt) Guelig, Jessica, Ethan (Sydney) & Grace Moehn, Brandon, Nathan & Austin Moehn, Adam (Alexandria) & Joshua (fiancée Jackie) Moehn, Ashley (Dennis) Volkmann, Tyler & Aaron (Esme) Moehn, Nicholas Hanna (Caitlyn Westenberger), Rachel (fiancé Brett Casper) & Courtney Beil, Trevor, Brenden (Paige) & Serena Berlin; brother- and sister-in-law: Kevin (Amy) Beil & Cheryl Berlin; his special pet: Lacie; and many other relatives and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Arthur, his grandparents, and his brother-in-law, Tom Berlin.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) Chilton, with Fr. Jon Thorsen officiating. Friends may call from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, February 25, 2022, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton, and from 10:00 am until 11:15 am at the church on the day of service. A committal service will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Chilton immediately following the funeral.
