Jerome F. Huber
Jerome F. Huber, 88, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida passed away Sunday July 7, 2013. He was born July 7, 1925 in Fond du Lac, WI a son of Mathias G. and Mary Irene (Fagan) Huber.
On March 29, 1948 he married Marjorie Cahill of Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on October 16, 1983. On August 1, 1990 he married Shirley Finley who passed away March 31, 2010.
Jerome served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946 earning awards including an American Area Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and a Victory Medal.
Jerome was President and Owner of Huber Paint & Glass in Fond du Lac. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and more recently a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
He was an active participant and held leadership positions in many organizations including: the Fond du Lac Yacht Club, Fond du Lac Elks Lodge 57 (past Exalted Ruler), United States Power Squadron (past Commander of Coral Ridge Power Squadron), Freedom Foundation, Fond du Lac Jaycees, National Glass Dealers Association (Past President), Fond du Lac Children’s Home (past President), the Coral Ridge Yacht Club of Ft. Lauderdale, FL as well as the Broward County Navy League.
Jerome is survived by two daughters, Jane (Joe) Jonas and Jeane (Pat) Rosmonowski; six step children, Sharon (Charles) Sweeney, Charles (Darlene) Finley Jr., Katherine Finley, Paul (Kristie) Finley, Martin (Mary) Finley, David (Diane) Finley; eight grandchildren, Whitney Walters, Joey (Karen) Walters, Courtney Walters, Brittney Walters, Katie Jonas, Joey Jonas, Margie Rosmonowski, Ryan Rosmonowski; 2 great grandchildren, Leah Walters and Nathan Walters; fourteen step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, both wives, his daughter Ann Walters, son-in-law Walter B. Walters and his brother Howard Huber.
Visitation: Family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St. Fond du Lac, from 4:30 to 7:00 PM. There is no visitation Friday.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 S. Peters Ave. Fond du Lac, on Friday July 12, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Private Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
