Jerome F. Seichter
Jerome “Jerry” Francis Seichter, 80, passed away peacefully at home on March 2, 2021. He was born on July 31, 1940 in Sheboygan to Martin and Helen (Schneider) Seichter.
Jerry graduated from New Holstein High School in 1958. He then honorably served in the United States Marine Corp. Jerry was united in marriage to Mary Jane Reiser on June 25, 1960.
After his service, Jerry was employed as a service manager and then, electrical test engineer at Giddings and Lewis.
Jerry enjoyed many things outdoors – fishing, hunting, bird watching, walks in the woods and keeping track of his trail cameras. He made friends everywhere he went and loved his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; daughter, Sheri (Rodney) Howard of Green Bay; sons, Brian (Sue Muetzelburg) Seichter and Wayne (Vicki) Seichter, both of Fond du Lac; granddaughters, Megan (Dan) Hoesly and Madeline (Arthur) Gryczman and great granddaughters, Magnolia and Josephine Hoesly.
Jerry is further survived by his sister, Mary Ann Seichter, good friends, John Fitzpatrick and Peter Bartelme, many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dan Seichter, Gordon Seichter and Ralph Seichter and sister, Janice Vogel.
SERVICES: Jerry’s family invites relatives and friends for a time of visitation at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street, Fond du lac on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 10:00 AM to Noon. Military honors will be performed at Noon at the funeral home. A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will continue on Monday at 1:00 PM at the American Legion Hall, Fond du Lac Avenue, Fond du Lac.
In lieu of flowers, Jerry’s family encourages memorials in his name to “Take ‘Em Outdoors,” an organization that enables disabled children and wounded veterans to spend time outdoors fishing and hunting.
