Joan Zwieg

Joan Zwieg, 80, of Waupun, died Thursday, April 4, 2013
at her residence.

 

Joan was born July 18, 1932 in Waupun the daughter of
Frank and Irma Schrauth Tank.  Joan attended Waupun schools and graduated from
Waupun High School in 1950.  Following graduation she was employed by Ideal Shoe
Factory in Waupun.  On October 24, 1953 she married Elden Zwieg at St. Joseph’s
Catholic Church in Waupun.  From 1960 through 1971 they resided in Campbellsport
where Joan worked part-time at Stella Cheese.  In 1971 they returned to Waupun
and for 10 years performed custodial work at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home.  Joan
was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in
Waupun.

 

Joan is survived by her husband of 59 years, Elden Zwieg
of Waupun; three children, Mary (Tom) Birschbach of Waupun, Lori (David)
Damsteegt of Waupun, and Michael Zwieg of Oakfield; four grandchildren, Jessica
Miller, Jenni Miller, Brittany (Mike) Rohde, and Alyssa (C.J.) Pratt; two
step-grandchildren, Sheila Damsteegt and Josh (Kala) Damsteegt; four
great-grandchildren, Mercedes and Brendan Birschbach, Leah Rohde, and Brandon
Hamlin ; two brothers, Robert (Angie) Tank of Waupun, and Richard (Maryann) Tank
of Waupun; a sister, Ruth Ann Farr of Waupun; and nieces and
nephews.

 

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; and a
granddaughter, Kelly Henderson.

 

The family wishes to thank Agnesian Hospice Hope for
their loving care.

 

Funeral services for Joan Zwieg will be held Monday,
April 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun.  Burial will
follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call
on the family on Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of
service.
