John A. Barouski

John A. Barouski, husband, father, computer whiz, destroyer of coffee makers, died on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.  He was 73.

He was born on October 22, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John and Betty Harding Barouski. He spent years as a seminarian with the Pallotine Fathers and Brothers, attending Queen of Apostles High School and St. Francis DeSales College.  He eventually left seminary and later married Phyllis I. Beyer on October 16, 1971, in Marinette, Wisconsin.

John always worked in insurance, first in Chicago and then in Madison.  He was employed at Society Insurance (formerly Threshermen’s Mutual) in Fond du Lac for 35 years before retiring in 2013.  John had been a volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul and served mass at Holy Family Parish.  He absolutely loved retirement-reading, learning and long theological discussions.

John is survived by Phyllis, his wife of 50 years, their children Karen Barouski and David Barouski both of Fond du Lac; his siblings: Anne (John) Bedlek, Mary Beth Garman, Terese (Wayne) Fron, Charles “Rusty” Barouski, Deborah Greene and James Barouski. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joseph and nephew Richard Greene.

SERVICE: A Catholic Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Sacred Heart Church of Holy Family Parish, 200 South Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac. Cremation has taken place.
