John C. Flood

John C.
Flood, age 74, formerly of Fond du Lac, passed away on December 3, 2017 at
Hospitality Nursing and Rehab Center in Kenosha.  He was born in Fond du Lac, WI on October 12,
1943 to J. Roland “Rollie” and Mary (Puddy) Flood.

Growing up, John
was very active in scouts. John and his brother, Dick, achieved rank of an
Eagle Scout. John served as an altar boy at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in
Fond du Lac, WI. He enjoyed ice skating and speed skating.

John
graduated from L.P. Goodrich High School in 1962 and went on to become a
licensed Master Barber. In the mid-1960’s he opened his own business, John’s
Barbershop, in North Fond du Lac. In the late 1970’s through the early 1980’s
he moved his shop to South Main Street in Fond du Lac.

John was an
avid coin collector. He enjoyed shooting trap, bowling, playing pool and was
often involved in cribbage tournaments. In his spare time, John enjoyed
visiting friends at D&D Bar, which he referred to as “the office” and the
Press Box tavern in Fond du Lac.

John was a
huge sports fan – his favorite teams were the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs
and the Milwaukee Brewers. He carried a small pocket radio to listen to the
games so he didn’t miss any of the action! He had an amazing memory for sports
trivia. John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always had a
smile to share.

John is
survived by two daughters, Katherine “Kitti” (Wayne Hirsch) Flood of Montello
and Nancy (Chris) Ruland of Kenosha and their mother, Barbara May Flood
(Harold) Pommier of Batavia, IL; two grandchildren Jake Flood and Emily
McLellan, both of Fond du Lac and one great granddaughter Adalynn Rose Flood of
Fond du Lac. He is further survived by sister-in-law Mary Ann Bertram Flood of
Fond du Lac, mother-in-law Bette May Thompson of Fond du Lac and many nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.

John is
preceded in death by his parents and one brother Richard “Dick” Flood in 2009.

John’s
