John E. Abler

John E. Abler, 93, of Fond du Lac, died June 30, 2022 at Woodlands Senior Park.

John was born February 9, 1929 in Fond du Lac, WI, a son of Edward and Edna (Michels) Abler.

On October 1, 1955 he married Dorothy “Dottie” Ann Meis at St. Mary Church in Lomira, WI.

John was a life-long dairy farmer and was born and raised on Abler Road. He was a member of St. Peter Choir, Holy Name Society, Holy Family Church, and the Malone Area Heritage Museum. John is survived by one daughter Cindy (Dan) Schaefer of Madison; one son Wayne (Julie) Abler of Winneconne; five grandchildren, Daniel (Sarah) Schaefer, Stephanie (Joshua) Schmidt, Brad (Tara) Van Caster, Mark (Tara) Van Caster, and Anthony Abler; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Woehrer; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dottie; his parents; his sister Sister Rose Marie Abler OSF; sister-in-law Lucille (Andrew) Kiefer; and brothers-in-law Norman (Bernice) Meis and Henry (Renate`) Meis.
