John E. Niemeier

John E. Niemeier, 84, of County Road QQ in St. Peter, died
on September 11th, 2016 at St. Agnes Hospital surrounded by his
family and loved ones.

           

John was born on March 31, 1932 in Furth Oberalteich,
Germany to Anton and Theres Landstorfer Niemeier.  John and his uncle, Albert Landstorfer
emigrated to the United States in 1953. After arriving in the U.S. he worked
for the Sisters of St. Agnes on the farm near St. Mary’s Springs. John served
in the United States Army during the Korean War and became a naturalized
citizen in 1958. After his military service, John sold cars at MeiklejohnVolkswagon,
and was chosen as Salesman of the Year several different years.

 

On November 25, 1967 he married Adeline Herriges of Kewaskum
at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. 
John was a real estate agent, worked at Wells Manufacturing and ended
his career retiring with the United States Postal Service.

 

John was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of
St. Peter Church and a founding member of Holy Family Parish, a member of the
Sheboygan Eisstock Club and an avid golfer. He volunteered at St. Vincent de
Paul, the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home and in the Holy Family Bereavement
Ministry. John enjoyed his Spanish classes and loved his grandchildren, who
were his pride and joy.

           

John is survived by one son John Anthony (Shelley) Niemeier,
and their five children, Brandon, Anna, Allyson, Adah and Maya; one daughter
Heidi (Greg) Hintz and their two children, Alexia and Bryce; and two brothers
Frank (Ruth) Neimeier and Anton (Annemarie) Neimeier. John is further survived
by many sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends.

           

He is preceded in death by his wife, Adeline, his parents, and
his wife’s parents, Anton and Ann Steahler.

 

Visitation:  Visitation will be held at the Zacherl
Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac on Friday, September 16, 2016
from 3 to 7:30 PM when there will be a prayer vigil, and again, at St. Peter
Church in the Village of St. Peter, on Saturday, from 9 to 9:45 AM. 

 

Services:  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at St. Peter Church in
the Village of St. Peter.  Burial will
follow at St. Peter Cemetery

           

Memorials in John’s name may be directed to St. Vincent de
Paul or Holy Family Parish.
