John “Jack” A. Schibline

John “Jack” A. Schibline, 94, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, November 11, 2021 at St. Francis Home where he was a resident the last three weeks.  He was born February 7, 1927 in Fond du Lac, the son of Matthew and Rose (Schussler) Schibline.  Jack attended St. Joseph’s grade school and graduated from Goodrich High School in 1945. He served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1945 -1947 aboard the USS Allagash. On August 28, 1948 he married Carmella A. Kuen at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.

Jack worked for the City of Fond du Lac for 42 years, retiring as the Electrical Superintendent in 1989. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Community, St. Joseph’s Society, Sacred Heart Perpetual Adoration, Knights of Columbus, Illuminating Engineering Society, and was active in Cub Scouts. Jack enjoyed woodworking, reading, playing cards, gardening, traveling, puzzles, volunteering, and going out for ice cream.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Carma; six children, Patrick (Mary Beth) Schibline of Pensacola, FL, Micky (Roger) Gajeski of Van Dyne, Larry (Sarah) Schibline of Fond du Lac, Steve (Karen) Schibline of Oshkosh, Tony (Joleen) Schibline of Fond du Lac, and Julie (Steve) Malizia of Gilbert, AZ; 16 grandchildren, Chris (Joel) Heinemann, Nancy (Michael) Mutterer, Andy (Anne) Gajeski, Matt (Kayla Dyer) Gajeski, Brad (Jen Jacobson) Schibline, Brian (Shelley) Schibline, Shawn (Shannon) Schibline, Shannan (Steve) Guell, Samantha (Troy) Hart, Tom Schibline, Trevor (Paige) Schibline, Alyssa (Jesse Zempel) Schibline, Isabel Thiel, Joshua Thiel, Justin Malizia, and Zach Malizia; many great and great-great grandchildren; and his brother, Joseph Schibline of Fond du Lac.  He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Eric Schibline; a great-great grandson; three brothers, Donald Schibline, Edward (Betty) Schibline, and Michael (Kolleen) Schibline; two sisters, Ethel (Bruce) Stinemates and Doris (Oliver) Bragg; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Schibline.

The visitation will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at St. Francis Chapel, 31 Everett Street in Fond du Lac.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday at the chapel. Masks are required while in attendance. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Agnesian Hospice or St. Francis Home in Jack’s name.
