John Joseph
Gallitz, 82, a resident of the Town of Lamartine, passed away July 3, 2015 at
the Liberty House, Fond du Lac.

He was born
March 12, 1933 in the Town of Springvale, a son of the late Alphonse and
Marceline Stommel Gallitz.

On July 18,
1953 he married Rita O’Tillia Schneider at St. John the Baptist Catholic
Church, Woodhull.

John was
engaged in farming his entire life. He was a member of Our Rise Savior Catholic
Church, Woodhull, a member of the church council, serving as treasurer for many
years, the Knights of Columbus Council #664, and the Farm Bureau.

Survivors
include his loving wife, Rita, nine children, Marlene (Jeff) Stenz of Mt.
Calvary, Linda (Michael) Kirst of Kissimmee, FL, Daniel Gallitz of Fond du Lac,
Barbara (Gary) Schaub of North Fond du Lac, Stanley Gallitz of Fond du Lac,
Alan (Julie) Gallitz of Fond du Lac, James Gallitz, Timothy (Mary) Gallitz of
Oakfield, Nancy (Brad) Bloch of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by
grandchildren, Michael Guffey, Rachael Stenz, Lee (Carrie) Kirst, Mark and
Jonathan Kirst,  Jason (Shelley) Schaub,
Krystle and Kimberly Schaub, Tony Gallitz (fiancee, Gabrielle), Jennifer,
Christine, Lisa, Jean Gallitz and Amy Silver, Tyler, Jacob and Misty Gallitz,
Michael Donofry, Ashley, William and Emily Bloch, five great-grandchildren,
five step-grandchildren, and 10 step-great grandchildren, five sisters, Joan
(Dave) Giebel, Marceline Sippel, Margaret Schmitz, Sr. Helen Gallitz C.S.A.,
Ann (Dan) Barefoot, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Conrad (Joyce) Schneider,
Marie Wellnitz, Roger (Marjorie) Schneider, Ames Deaver, Dolores Schneider,
Lucy (Terry) Burnett, and Annette (Robert) Guse, nieces, nephews, other
relatives and many friends.

He was
preceded in death by his daughter, Jean Marie Gallitz, his mother-in-law and
father-in-law, Emmanuel and Pauline Casper Schneider, brothers-in-law, Ken
Sippel, Orlando Schmitz, Rueben Schneider, Servatius (Mary) Schneider, Edgar
Wellnitz, Robert (Geraldine) Schneider, Frederick (Irene) Schneider and LeRoy
Koenigs, sisters-in-law, an infant, Romaine Schneider, Bernice Huck, and
Veronica Deaver and his special godfather, Uncle John.

Visitation: Visitation will be held on Wednesday
July 8, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Zacherl Funeral Home, Fond du Lac.
Visitation will also be held on Thursday July 9, 2015, at Our Risen Savior
Catholic Church, Woodhull from 10:00 to 10:45 AM.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Thursday July 9, 2015, 11:00 AM at Our Risen Savior Church,
Woodhull. Rev. Joseph Dominic will officiate. Burial will be in the parish
cemetery.

John’s family extends their deep
