John Langolf

John Langolf, 86, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Hospice Home of Hope.  John was born January 17, 1926 in Lincoln, NE, a son of Henry and Alvina (Helgenberg) Langolf.

On February 25, 1948 he married Margaret Ryan in Dubuque, IA.

He attended Fond du Lac High School and then joined the United States Army.  He formerly worked at Mercury Marine Corp and after 30 years retired from Giddings and Lewis Corp.

He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aries #270, the American Legion of Fond du Lac, and the Church of Peace.

John enjoyed camping with the family.  Because of his love of driving, he frequently drove to Arizona to visit with his children. 

He is survived by Margaret, his loving wife for almost 65 years; five children, Phil (Judy) Langolf of Chandler, AZ, Sundy (Bob) Luft of Redgranite, WI, Suzanne (Dan) Murphy of Gilbert, AZ, John Jr. (fiancee, Kathy Strong) Langolf of Fond du Lac and Dan Langolf of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Rob Langolf, Eric (Terri) Langolf, Steve Bostwick Jr., Anthony Bostwick, Tanya (Jim) Kasubaski, Stephanie (Gary) Schmitz, Doug Murphy, Brian Langolf, Kevin (Sue) Langolf, Scott Langolf and Jena Langolf; great grandchildren, Savannah and Winter Langolf, Jimmy and Hunter Kasubaski, Aston and Addison Schmitz, Maddie and Jack Langolf.

He is further survived by two sisters, Theresa Timm and Beade Meyer; other relatives and friends.

Preceding John in death are his parents, one daughter, Lattona Langolf; one brother, Peter; two sisters, Alvina Burchardt and Magdalene Groeschl.

Visitation:  John’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:45 PM. 

Services:  At 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 17, a funeral service will be held at the Zacherl Funeral Home.  Cremation will follow these services and burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park. 

John’s family is grateful for the staff of St. Agnes Hospital and of Hospice Home of Hope for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided John.
