John P. James
John P. James, 82, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, December 30, 2012, at home, on the same street his parents lived, where he was born.
He was born on March 5, 1930, in Fond du Lac, a son of Peter and Frances Karamanedes James.
He served with the United States Army, 45th Infantry Division, during the Korean Conflict.
On June 23, 1956, he married Marlene I. Dehring.
John and Marlene recently retired from Pick ‘N Save, where they bagged groceries side by side. He was also known for his expertise in auto detailing and served many people throughout the Fond du Lac community.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. John enjoyed, and found relaxation in his yardwork. He enjoyed sports, was an avid bowler, and softball player in his earlier years. He was well known for pitching the game without using a glove.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; a son, Peter (Kathleen) James; three grandchildren: Angeline (Jeffrey) Perry, John (special friend, Beth Parsons) James, Christina (Jeremy) Tabbert; two great-grandchildren: Joshua Perry and Amy Perry; a brother, James James; two sisters: Helen (Gordon) Rose, and Bessie Albrecht; and a brother-in-law, Glen Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Polly Zentner, Ann Johnson, Mary Norton; a brother, Ernest James; three sisters-in-law: Demetra James, Mary James, Diana James, and three brothers-in-law: Eugene Zentner, Arnold Albrecht, and Eldon Norton.
A private service was held.
