Jon L. Huberty

Jon L. Huberty, age 68, of Kiel, died on March 28, 2020, at Rocky Knoll Nursing Home in Plymouth. He was born August 19, 1951, son of the late James and Dorothy Huberty.

Jon was devoted to his family. He had a calm, quiet demeanor and his siblings remember him as a genuine, caring brother. He was sensible, compassionate, selfless, and empathetic. He was always there for his daughter, Andrea, never missing her sporting events and always willing to chaperone her school functions. They loved spending their free time together at Road America watching races.

Jon loved the outdoors, fishing when he was younger and hunting as an adult. He liked taking walks and vegetable gardening. His love for the outdoors included soaring through the sky as a skydiver. He enjoyed traveling, especially his trip to Fiji. His selflessness extended to his entire country: Jon was a Vietnam-era veteran, honorably serving in the U.S. Army. Jon was a dedicated employee of Kohler Company, working in the plant and in security for nearly four decades. He attended Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Kiel for many years.

Jon is survived by his daughter, Andrea Huberty; sisters: Lynn Johnson, Susan (Carl) Popelka, Lisa Huberty (Dan Dettweiler), Traci (Patrick) Hickey, Rebecca (Joe) Lauerman, and Amy (Paul) Gurzynski; brothers: James “Jim” Huberty, Paul Huberty, Patrick Huberty, and Michael Huberty; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy.

Private family services are being planned.
