Josephine Looman

Josephine Looman, 95, a resident of the Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center in Waupun, died Friday, August 30, 2013.

Josephine was born September 27, 1917 in Fond du Lac County the daughter of Louis and Jennie Vossekuil Redeker.  On May 12, 1950 she married Benjamin Looman and the couple resided in Waupun all of their married life.  Josephine’s love for music began as a child and included playing the piano, harp, violin, and her true love, the organ which she played most of her life at many area churches.  Jo was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Waupun.

Josephine is survived by a sister-in-law, Alice Redeker of Waupun; along with two nieces, Jan (Mel) DeVries, and Eileen Vant Hoff; two nephews, Larry (Ruth) Redeker, and Ron (Marilyn) Redeker; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Looman in 2008; and two brothers, Otto and Bernard Redeker.

Funeral services for Josephine Looman will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Craig Van Hill officiating.  Burial will take place at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.  Friends and relatives of Josephine Looman may call on the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 am until the time of service.
