Joyce R. Hauser

Joyce Rose Hauser, age 89, of Chilton, died on May 28, 2020, at the Homestead Care Center in New Holstein. She was born August 19, 1930 in the town of Franklin, Kewaunee County, Wisconsin. A daughter of the late William and Catherine (Schoenung) Bolz. She married David Hauser on September 6, 1950, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chilton, now known as Good Shepherd Parish. David preceded her in death on February 13, 1991.



Joyce graduated from Hilbert High School in 1948. She worked 32 years in quality control at Aluminum Specialty, later known as the Foley Company. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Parish and she belonged to the Christian Women Society. She was a member of the Perpetual Adoration since its beginning and she belonged to the bereavement committee. After retirement she enjoyed golfing with her friends, she helped with school lunches at Chilton Area Catholic School, and she helped serve meals for senior citizens once a week.



Joyce is survived by her children: Mike (Rose) Hauser of Chilton, Sandy (Roger) Koepke of Chilton, Daniel Hauser of Chilton; grandchildren: Nick Hauser of Chilton, Beth (Nick) Dodge of River Falls, Brian (Cori) Hauser of Rochester, MN, Ryan (Savanna) Koepke of Darboy, Lauren (Shawn) Schmidt of Chilton; great-grandchildren who she loved and adored: Kaylee and Brayden Dodge of River Falls, Caleb and Noah Schmidt of Chilton, and Amelia Koepke of Darboy; sisters-in-law: Viola Bolz and Marie Hauser; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 



Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, David; an infant son; her parents: William and Catherine Bolz; brothers: William (Armella) Bolz, Gilbert (Helen) Bolz, Nicholas Bolz, and Alois Bolz; sisters: Lucille (Edward) Bittner, Josephine (Frank) Valenta, and Margaret (Lester) Reedy; daughter-in-law: Janet Hauser; and a brother-in-law: Charles Kane.



A funeral service is set for 11:00am on Friday, June 5, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Thursday, June 4, at the funeral home, and again from 10:00am until 10:45am at the funeral home on the day of service. Burial will take place at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. A vigil prayer service will be held following the visitation on Thursday evening.
