Judith C. Bonack

Judith Carolyn Bonack, 78, of Waupun, WI passed away peacefully on February 14, 2018 with her family by her side.

Judy was born in Waupun, WI on June 22, 1939, the daughter of George and Caroline Lang. She was a graduate of Waupun High School and worked in Milwaukee in her early years. Upon returning to Waupun, she married Richard Bonack on June 25, 1960 at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Judy is survived by her husband Richard of 57 years, and their three children and spouses, Tim (Zoe) Bonack of Colorado Springs; Laurie (Todd) Reilly of Stevens Point; and Jeff (Julie) Bonack of Waupun; six grandchildren Troy (Alison) Reilly, Leah (Josh) Knights, Bryan Bonack, Kristi Bonack, Kayla Bonack and Kelli Bonack; two great-grandchildren Evan and Emma. Judy is further survived by her brother Keith (Mary Ellen) Lang and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Neil Lang.

Judy found joy in many things, but her primary love was her children and their families. She nurtured her grandchildren and took great pride in their successes. As long as she was able, numerous trips were taken to Colorado and Eagle River to spend time with family. She enjoyed reading, journaling, baking, and staying connected online with family, friends and current events. Judy and Richard frequently transformed their kitchen into a bakery, baking and decorating hundreds of cookies for Christmas and other special events that were shared with family and friends. Her faith remained an important part of her life and gave her strength and comfort.

We want to acknowledge Amy, Debbie and Jackie for their special care of Judy. Thanks also to the Christian Home staff, Agnesian Hospice and Waupun Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care and support. The visits from Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church and the spiritual guidance of Pastor Dennis at the Christian Home are deeply appreciated.

Remember, “be good to one another” and “nice matters.”

The visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, February 23 at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun. The service will also be held at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 24 following a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
