Julie Ann Karpinsky

In loving memory of Julie Ann Karpinsky (Formerly Kraus) after her passing to be with the Lord.

Born in Fond du Lac, WI, to Earl and Eloise Toney, Julie had a difficult childhood due to her father, Earl, having an illness. When she met James Kraus in her twenties, she saw the opportunity to start a new life. They moved to Anchorage, where he was stationed in the army, and they had their only child David. Life was hard in Alaska, and unfortunately, as things don’t always go according to plan, she was forced to return to her parents in Wisconsin to raise David.

Many years later, she was blessed with meeting the love that would last, Steven Karpinsky. Having married Steven and moved together, her life was dramatically improved.

Shortly after this new life began, she came to know and love her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Julie, from hard life, had given in to smoking at a young age and had smoked for 40 years. Upon coming to Jesus, He delivered her from smoking. She literally told Him if He didn’t take it from her, she could never quit. He took it that very day! Despite the deliverance buying her many more fond years with Steven, the smoking had taken a heavy toll on her, and for years her condition deteriorated. Having several times to the emergency room unable to breathe, the last was too much for her. On the 28th of March, she had trouble breathing and was coughing severely. She was taken to the hospital and had a coughing episode that broke her rib and pierced her lung. She could not breathe independently and had expressed her desire if that was her condition to allow her to pass naturally.

Fortunately for family and friends, Sunday night, the 27th, just hours prior, her son received an encouraging word for her from the Lord. The word was that she was bought by Jesus, that she was signed, sealed, delivered. It was a done deal. Having received this just hours before losing her breath, she had the confident assurance of where she was going and was ushered into her new life. The writer of this obituary understands that this is not a traditional obituary, but this was not a traditional life. Julie would have wanted, without a doubt, to share her story, that, if possible, even just one person would hear it and find hope, hope that there is mercy and freedom in Christ. There is nothing He can’t deliver you from.

Julie was predeceased by her parents and is survived by Her loving Husband, Steven Karpinksy, and her son David Kraus, who will miss her deeply. A memorial for her will be available online at Twohig Funeral Home’s website.
