Karen J. Hug

Karen J. Hug, 68, of Fond du Lac, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016. She was born April 19, 1948 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Claire and Lucille Soles Kirschenstein. On January 24, 2003 she married Leonard Hug in Fond du Lac. Karen was a talented seamstress and retired from Fond du Lac Tent and Awning. Karen and her husband, Leonard touched many lives during the holidays, playing Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus throughout Fond du Lac County for over 20 years. She enjoyed camping in Door County,making beaded jewelry, crafting, and spending time with her grandchildren.



She is survived by her husband, Leonard; one daughter, Kim (Jerred) Nelson of Fond du Lac; four step daughters, Gina (Mike) Malson, Dawn (Todd) Lerche, Sally (Jerry) Flynn, and Jennie Silvia, all of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren, A1C James Nelson of Osan Air Base, South Korea, Tyler Hug, Bobbie Jo Fitzsimmons, Courtney Schwefel, Derek Malson, Shawna Malson all of Fond du Lac; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Janet (David) Kaiser of Fond du Lac; and her beloved Yorkie, Gizmo. She was preceded in death by her parents.



The visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:30 pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Private family burial will be held in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday. 



The family extends a special thank you to the staff of St. Agnes Hospital, Agnesian Hospice Hope, All About Life Rehabilitation Center, and Dr. Michael Sergi for their care and compassion given to Karen and her family over the last months.
