Kathryn Claire Theis

Take
care of each other
was
a firm belief of Kathryn Claire Theis, 61, of Madison, WI, who died early
Saturday, March 22, 2014, in Santa Monica, CA, while visiting her daughter,
Eleanor
Nora Nett. She is now pure love and joy, and we are here taking
care of each other in her stead.

Kathryn (Kate or K.C.), was born at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du
Lac
on Sept. 24, 1952, the daughter of Lavern and
Patricia (Bostwick) Klinzing. On December 17, 1973, she married James Nett, who
preceded her in death in 1988. K.C. married Thomas
Touse Theis on May 2, 1990, who also preceded her in death in
2001.

One of 10 children, K.C. graduated
from L.P. Goodrich
High School in 1970 and from the Madison Area Technical
College
in 1972. She was
awarded a bachelor
s degree (CPA)
from the University
of Wisconsin-Oshkosh
.
K.C. went on to earn a law degree at the University of Wisconsin Law School,
then later earned a master of liberal arts degree in creation spirituality at
Naropa University Oakland.

Early in her business career, she
worked as an X-ray technician in Madison; owned
and operated Netts and Rackets tavern in Fond du Lac;
worked as an internal auditor at Banc-Corp in Milwaukee in 1985 until she began law school.
She was an adjunct professor at Marian
College from January, 1994-1996; owned
the Blue Heron Bookstore, and worked as K.C. Theis, Attorney at Law, in Fond du Lac for more than
a decade. After moving to Los Angeles,
K.C. served as CFO for the Mary Lind Recovery Centers from September 2002 until
September 2011. Upon returning to Wisconsin,
she owned and operated K.C. Theis Business Services, LLC, in Fond du Lac. She was also a sales associate
for Roberts Homes & Real Estate and a managing member at Caballero &
Co. Productions in Los Angeles.

She authored two books: The
Cleansing,
(1998),
and
Tell
Me Another One, Nana,
(2013)
an Amazon e-book of short stories for children.

K.C. was a member of the Badger
Alumni Association, the V.F.W., the Fond
du Lac
Center

for Spirituality and Healing, and the Self Realization Fellowship in Pacific
Palisades, CA.

K.C.
enjoyed experiencing the world through travel, education, writing, creating art
and merriment.  She loved holding
children, watching sunsets, sharing stories with friends and spending time with
family.  There was nothing that gave her
life more meaning than being supportive of those she loved and kind to all she
met.  Her spirit indomitable, her
laughter infectious, she left those who shared her presence better off for having
encountered it.

K.C. is survived by her daughters,
Eleanor Nett, of Los Angeles, CA
and Carrie Theis, of Fond du Lac; a son, Eric
(Cody) Theis, of Madison; and grandson, August Theis, also of Madison. She is further survived by her

of her own.

She was preceded in death by James
Nett, Thomas Theis, her parents, Patty and Vern Klinzing, cousin Julie Meress,
niece Carlina Klinzing and a number of close aunts and an uncle.

for Spirituality and Healing, 74
S. Main St.
, Fond du Lac, WI

K.C.
s children also request that, in her honor, you go forth in
your own life with an abundance of kindness and laughter.

I
smell you in the ocean breeze and see you in every sunset of every day. I feel
you in each flower I touch as I pass by, and hear you in the laughter of others
especially
children.
