Kathy Riedel
Riedel, 84, passed away at her home on June 2, 2017. She was born on October 9,
1932 in Cornell, Wisconsin to Lynn and Margaret (Gebert) Beale. Kathy was raised in the Eau Claire/Chippewa
Falls area and graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1950. Kathy was an only child, but she had many
fond memories of special times spent with her cousins and extended family near
Stetsonville, WI. She married John
Riedel on December 8, 1951 in Eau Claire and they moved to Milwaukee where John
was stationed with the Coast Guard.
They moved
to Fond du Lac in 1962. Kathy was an
administrative assistant in the Fond du Lac School District, serving the
students at Woodworth Junior High School followed by Franklin Elementary School
for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening – especially her
perennials, and loved jazz music. Kathy
and John previously were members of Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church and most
recently attended Trinity Baptist Church in Fond du Lac.
Kathy is
survived by her husband of 65 years, John, two daughters Shelley (Pat) Tighe
and Jayne Riedel Borst, seven grandchildren, Betsy Borst, Jenny Borst, Laura
Borst, Kevin (Mary) Tighe, Kelly (Bryan) Wondra, Katie Tighe, Emily Tighe, and
one great granddaughter, Sofia Patricia Tighe.
She is also survived by her beloved dog, Suzy. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents.
Kathy’s
family would like to thank Lake View Place, Agnesian Hospice, Dr. Michael Sergi,
Reverend Greg Nuernberg, and Pastor Dan Leeds for the excellent care that has
been provided for her.

Kathy’s family will greet relatives and friends at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E.
Division St., Fond du Lac, on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 2:00 to 3:45 PM.
Service: A
memorial service will be celebrated after visitation on Thursday, June 8, 2017
at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
