Kenneth A. Perry

Kenneth A. Perry, 87, of Fox Lake, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, December 22, 2015 in his home.

Ken was born February 27, 1928  on a farm on Lakeland Road in the town of Trenton and lived his entire life within a mile of his birthplace. Ken graduated from Waupun High School in 1945 and farmed until 1964 when he began working at State Bank of Fox Lake as the Chief Agricultural Loan Officer and stayed in their employ until he retired in 1992.  Ken was also a member on the bank’s Board of Directors until 2003 and served his community on numerous boards and committees.  On June 24, 1950 he married his companion of a lifetime, Betty Mielke.  Ken and Betty were blessed to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary this year by bringing their entire family together for a three-day weekend.  Ken and Betty spent winters in Mesa, AZ and summers at Tuttle Lake.  Ken enjoyed people and could always be counted on for a good story or two.  Needless to say, Ken made friends wherever he went.

Ken is survived by his wife, Betty; three children: Janet Flagel of Vancouver, British Columbia, Steve (Kim) Perry of Fox Lake, and Tim Perry (Amy Christopherson) of Waupun; six grandchildren: Beth (Jon) Ritzema of Blaine, MN; Lex Flagel (Suzanne McGaugh) of Arden Hills, MN; Mike (Carrie) Perry of Markesan, Dack (Nicole) Flagel of Golden Valley, MN; Dan (Mandy) Perry  of Waupun; and Rachel Perry of Waupun; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille (Gordon) Schultz of Beaver Dam; a sister-in-law, Priscilla Perry of Waupun; and many nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his brother, Duane Perry; and brother-in-law, Allen F. Mielke.

Funeral services for Kenneth A. Perry will be held Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at County Line Lutheran Church in Markesan with Rev. Bruce Engebretson officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
