Larry A. Haase

Larry A. Haase, 74, of Waupun, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.


Larry was born February 9, 1943 at the family home outside of Brandon, the son of Alfred and Mildred Jahns Haase. Larry was a 1961 graduate of Brandon High School. On April 16, 1964 he married Sharon Van Loo in Waupun. Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun all their married lives. Larry was employed at the Shaler Co. and later at National Rivet where he retired in 1992. Larry was a member of The Waupun Masonic Lodge #48 where he was a Past Master and Chaplain. Larry was a referee for high school basketball, an umpire in softball, and was active in mini-maids and maxi-maids girls softball. He loved hunting, fishing, and sports. Larry was a member of Waupun United Methodist Church. He served as president of Atwater Conservation Club for many years. Larry’s family meant the world to him.


Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon Haase of Waupun; a daughter, Michelle (Jeffrey) Meyer of Waupun; three grandchildren: Kyle (Brittany) Meyer of Horicon, Krysta Meyer of Waupun, and Katryna Meyer (special friend Joshua Lang) of Redgranite, WI; two great-grandchildren: Annabelle and Wesley Meyer; and a sister, Marcella Haase-Schnell of Dousman.


He was preceded in death by his parents; and a twin brother, Lonnie Haase.


Memorial services for Larry Haase will be held Friday, April 21, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Collin Vanderhoof officiating.  Friends and relatives of Larry Haase may call on the family on Friday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service.
