Lawrence (Larry) Charles Williams

Lawrence (Larry) Charles Williams October 8, 1948 Son of Lowell (Duke) and Charlotte Williams. Attended school at Lincoln, Roosevelt and Goodrich High School.

Married: July 26, 1973 to Mary Gores. They were married for 42 years.

Employed at South Hills Golf Course, Wright Brothers, Ralston Purina Mills for many years and Copp’s Convenient store and Quality Cab until he retired due to poor health.

Survived by his wife Mary Gores Williams of the home

Children surviving: Melissa (Brian) Schmidt, children Keagan, Amelia and Rory.

Tanya (Jason) Schmidt., children Landen, Everleigh and Lincoln. A new baby is due in September.

Katie (Ryan) Duel, children Tennyson and Kingston. Al! his daughters live in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin

Larry was a member of many bands including “The War Lords” and “Fiddlin` Crab” in his earlier years. He continued through the years to play his guitar and had many jam sessions in his music room down in the basement of his home.

Larry loved to play his guitar and was self taught. He was an avid blues and jazz fan.

As his Wegener’s Granulomatosis disease progressed he had to give up playing his guitar altogether. This was a very difficult time for him.



Larry loved as a child going fishing with his brothers and uncle Kick Williams. He loved taking his daughters down to the crick to catch crawdads and to fish with his grandson Keagan, Larry had many happy times with all his grandkids.

Other survivor: Sister: Carol (Ross) Purcell and her children Dr. Craig Purcell and his children Harrison and Clayton Purcell from Fort Worth, Texas and Debra (Chad) Pralle and their children Sofia and Miles, Seattle, Washington

Also surviving are his sister in law, Ann (Bob) Somers, brother in law John Gores and sister in law Katherine Baker. Also a sister in Law, Linda (Jim) Danor and her children Nathan, Jared Williams and Megan (Andy) Soil. His sister Marilyn’s children are Mark (Lisa) Schwebke and Ann (Karl) Tenney.

Preceding him in death, his parents, Lowell and Charlotte Williams, his brothers Lowell Lawrence, brother Lowell (Sonny) and brother William (Bill) Williams. His Sister Marilyn Williams, A nephew John Schwebke. His mother and father in law, Jake and Agnes Gores.his twin granddaughters, Charlotte and Sandra Schmidt, his Grandparents, Frank and Ella Williams and Albert and Anna Oldenburg and many other aunts and uncles.

Listening to his favorite music, Larry passed away Sunday 3/20/16 at St. Agnes Hospital surrounded by his loving family.



Visitation for Larry will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524. N Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. The memorial service will begin at 7:00 PM with Pastor Jeremy Thompson of Edgewood Community Church officiating. Cremation has taken place.
