Lawrence T. Klein

Lawrence T. Klein, 78, of Fond du Lac died Tuesday, January 11, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born November 9, 1943 in Fond du Lac to George and Gertrude Bohlman Klein. On November 14, 1964 he married La Donna Wendt at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in North Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2016.

Lawrence worked on his family farm and at Wendt’s Marine, which he took ownership of in 1981 until he sold to his son in 2007 and continued working until his retirement in 2018. He was a member of Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac. He was also a member of the Van Dyne Lions Club, President of the NFDL Rod & Gun Club, Fond du Lac Eagle Aeries #270, Knights of Columbus, WWA, and the Possum Lodge.

He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, bowler, and enjoyed playing cards. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his five children, Susette (Kenneth) Stephani, Sheryl (Ronald) Preissner, Stephen (Michelle) Klein, Sandra Klein, and Scott (Heather) Klein; nine grandchildren, Victoria (Justin) Werner, Casandra (special friend, Will Rouvari) Witt, Jessica Stephani, Josh (special friend, Ana Hoeft) Stephani, Matthew Klein, Brody Preissner, Emily, Jacob, and Gabriella Klein; three great grandchildren, Winstyn, Knox, and Navy Werner; and two special grand pets, Socks and Ritz. He is further survived by his siblings, Mary (Richard) Johnson, Ronald (Betty) Klein, and Judith (Duke) Hawes; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joanne Klein, Michael (Mary) Wendt, Thomas (Roxanne) Wendt, and Douglas (Renee) Wendt; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, La Donna; father and mother-in-law, Freeland “Fritz” and Cynthia Wendt; brother, Eugene Klein; sisters, Dorothy (Chris) Keller and Elizabeth (Glenn) Redman; sister-in-law, Patricia Klein; and nieces, Deborah Keller, Karen Klein, and Elizabeth Klein.

The visitation will be held Monday, January 17, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 705 Michigan Avenue in North Fond du Lac. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday at church. Private entombment will be held in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park on Tuesday.
