Lenora Stam

Lenora Stam, 84, of Waupun, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at her home.

Lenora was born July 2, 1929 in Waupun the daughter of John and Johanna Scholten Dykman.  On November 2, 1947 she married Leonard C. Stam at Waupun United Methodist Church in Waupun.  Following their marriage they resided in the Waupun area all their married lives.  Lenora was the bookkeeper for the family business of Stam Auto Body for most of her life.  In 1968, Lenora received the first “Mother of the Year” award from the Waupun Chamber of Commerce.  Lenora was a member of First Reformed Church in Waupun and was an avid reader, cribbage player, and enjoyed her garden and birds.

Lenora is survived by her nine children: Leonard (Jill) Stam of Waupun, Linda Litscher of Randolph, Lois (Bill) Rasmussen of Beloit, Lori (George) Smullen of Waupun, Lorraine Stam (special friend Scott Vanden Hoek) of Waupun, Lyle (Kathy) Stam of Waupun, Larry (Chris) Stam of Waupun, Louise (Al) Westhuis of Hudson, and Lissa Schopp of Sun Prairie; 13 grandchildren: Sheila Kast, Curt Stam, Leanne Fietz, Andy Rasmussen, Elizabeth Rasmussen, Bill Wagner, Matt Wagner, Sara Navis, Aaron Stam, Nathan Stam, Jessica Meyer, Michele Westhuis, and Mike Westhuis; 14 great-grandchildren: Cody, Makenna, Lee, Sydney, Ryan, Lucas, Max, Connor, Parker, Nora, Alex, Lucas, Riley, and Daniel.

Lenora was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard C., in 2005; son, Lee; granddaughter, Lynnae; great-granddaughter, Rebecca; son-in-law, Warren Litscher; three brothers: Melvin, Woody, and Lester “Whitey” Dykman; and two sisters, Grace Johnson and Emma Vande Zande.

Funeral services for Lenora Stam will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 12 noon at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Bob James officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.  Friends and relatives of Lenora Stam may call on the family on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
