Lenore Mulder

Lenore Mulder, 85, of Brandon, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Marvin’s Manor in Brandon where she and her husband, Alvin resided the past two years.

Lenore was born December 7, 1927 in Oostburg, WI, the daughter of Wilbert W. and Evelyn Liezen Dirkse. Lenore attended Oostburg schools, graduating from Oostburg High School. Lenore went on to Milwaukee School of Cosmetology. She worked as a beautician at Nina’s Beauty Salon in Waupun for two years. On October 6, 1949 she married Alvin Mulder in Oostburg. Following their marriage the couple resided in the Waupun area where they farmed until 1981. They moved from the farm to West Rock River Rd. and in 2011 they moved to Brandon. Lenore was a member of Alto Christian Reformed Church, its Ladies Aide, and the library committee. She was a member of Rock River Homemakers and a volunteer at Waupun Memorial Hospital, Bargains Galore, and the Fox Lake Correctional Institution Bible Study.

Lenore is survived by her husband of 64 years, Alvin Mulder of Brandon; five children, Susan (Jim) Anema of Janesville, Tom Mulder of Randolph, Bruce (Doris) Mulder of Beloit, Stuart (Karen) Mulder of Fox Lake, and Gayle (Dave) Kroon of Atwood, MI; 17 grandchildren, Jennifer (Doug) Pruim, Mike (Tanya) Anema, Matt (Shana) Anema, Beth (Greg) Torres, Erin (Joshua) King, Christopher (Taera) Mulder, Brian (Jodi) Mulder, Charlie (Melissa) Mulder, David (Robin) Mulder, Grant (Leah) Mulder, Alyssa Mulder, Lerae (Colin) McWhertor, Anna Kroon, Jenice Kroon, Evan Kroon, Abigail Kroon, and Graham Kroon; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Roland (Eunice) Dirkse of Oostburg; a sister, Carol (Wayne) Sandee of Mankato, MN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.

Lenore was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Lenore Mulder will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Alto Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Bob Krueger officiating. Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday from 4- 7 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
