Leona H. “Brownie” Koepsell

Leona H. “Brownie” Koepsell,
96, of North Fond du Lac, died Wednesday,
January 1, 2014, at home.

 

She was born on February 12,
1917, in Marinette, Wisconsin, a daughter of Hermann and Emma
Wieting Brown.

 

On September 20, 1941, she
married Paulus W. Koepsell at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church,

Marinette, Wisconsin.

 

Prior to her marriage, she
was a dental assistant and then worked at her husband’s creamery.  After moving to Fond du Lac, she worked at Infant Socks and
was a secretary at All About Life Rehabilitation Center.

 

Leona was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church,
North Fond du Lac.  She enjoyed golfing, sewing, and playing
pinochle.  She was an avid reader,
enjoyed word puzzles, and playing solitaire on the computer.

 

She is survived by three
daughters:  Gayle Reinbolt of  Maumee, Ohio, Kathleen Auchue of Fond du Lac,
and Paula Deichsel of Fond du Lac; ten grandchildren:  Karl Reinbolt, Amy (Brad) Dutro, Kirk Auchue,
Kevin (Michelle) Auchue, Jereme Auchue, Kristine (Karl) Mittlestadt, Kara (Tim)
Gessner, Kim(Josh) Guell, Michael (Sarah) Deichsel, and Kent Deichsel; 16
great-grandchildren:  Chase, Cassie, Kailey,
Jackson, Brandon, Casey, Zachary, Mya, Evelyn, Wyatt, Nicholas, Emmitt,
Isabella, Liberty, Shawn, and Ryan.

 

She was preceded in death by
her parents; her husband, Paulus on February 19, 2004; a sister, Erna (Walter)
Lindsey; and a brother, Gerhardt (Dorothy) Brown.

 

The funeral service will be
held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church,
1010 Adams Avenue, North
Fond du Lac.  Burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery.

 

The visitation will be on
Tuesday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
