Linda L. Floyd-Stuck

Linda L. (Bohlman) Floyd-Stuck, 74, resident of Fond du Lac, WI, passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of March 25, 2021, with her loving husband and her caregiver by her side. She was born in Fond du Lac on September 22, 1946 to Lester and Viola (Fox) Bohlman. She was the oldest of five children.

Linda graduated from Saint Mary’s Springs Academy and went on to earn a degree in English from Marian College. In the mid 70’s, she moved to Portland, Oregon, where she worked as a Human Resources Manager for both Industrial Indemnity and US Bank. It was also where she met and ultimately married, Larry Nelson, and they spent many happy years together until Larry’s death in 2003.

The next year, having recently retired and wanting to be closer to her family of origin, Linda moved back to Fond du Lac. A couple years later, she met Rick Stuck, and they married in November 2008 in Branson, Missouri. They made a happy home in a beautiful, nature-filled setting just outside of Fond du Lac. Linda and Rick began each day either sitting out on their deck or in their sunroom observing and interacting with their many feathered and furry friends while drinking their coffee. They had names for their recognizable birds, squirrels, chipmunks and deer.

Ten years ago, when Linda first showed symptoms of her motor neuron disease, and as her disease progressed and she was more homebound, she treasured these little animal friends and their antics all the more.

Rick describes Linda as having the most beautiful spirit: loving, kind and generous. He cherished her wonderful, wicked sense of humor and love of laughter. Her siblings and friends knew she was a great storyteller as well. From the tender age of seven, she told her brothers, aged five and three, that she had visited the Statue of Liberty and that 1 million people could fit inside the statue’s little finger! Linda was also a great cook, voracious reader, very creative and artistic. While she loved all animals, she particularly loved all things cats, including lions. Linda is survived by her precious kitty, Maisie Grace, and mention must also be made of her beloved kitties who passed before her, which include Annie Laurie and brother kitties, Kelsey Nelson and Danny Boy.

Linda is survived by her husband, Rick, stepsons, Erik (Darlene) Nelson of Manzanita, OR; Tracy Nelson of Portland, OR; step-granddaughter, Hannah Nelson, of Portland, OR; stepson, Jody Stuck of Freedom, WI; step-granddaughter, Ashley Stuck of Appleton, WI; siblings, John (Mary) Bohlman of Ogdensburg, WI; Cheri Bohlman of Fond du Lac, WI; and Nancy Fox of Fond du Lac, WI; sister-in-law, Mary (Ron) Bohlman; 7 nieces and nephews; 5 great nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Viola Bohlman; first husband, Larry Nelson; and brother, Ron Bohlman.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregiver, Ursula Curry, and Agnesian Healthcare Hospice Hope.

Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will be held.

In light of COVID-19, a celebration of Linda’s life will be held for family and friends when the weather permits gathering outside. That will be announced when the date is determined.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Fond du Lac Humane Society or Agnesian Healthcare Hospice Hope.
