Linda Mary Gau
Linda Mary Gau, 54, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes after a brief illness on June 16, 2018 in Madison. She was born to Bernard and Dolores (Sabel) Gau on July 18, 1963 in Fond du Lac.
Linda graduated from St. Mary’s Springs in 1981. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Portuguese and International Relations with honors and distinction from UW-Madison in 1985. Linda was awarded the Cyril B. Naze Bequest Scholarship to conduct economic research in Sao Paulo Brazil from 1984 to 1985. She earned her MBA in Marketing in May of 1991 at UW-Madison.
She was a foreign exchange student in Brazil, her senior year of high school and her senior year of college. Linda enjoyed her many travels, watching sports, especially UW-Madison sports, working out and the Madison community. She worked 18 years within the State of WI. Linda was instrumental in developing the computer programming systems for several state healthcare programs.
She will be sadly missed by her family and her dear Madison friends.
Linda is survived by her father, Bernard Gau and step mother, Marge Gau; siblings Debbie Gau, Patti (Bill) Gau-Henke, Mike (Cindy) Gau, Diane (Dr. Anthony) Strigenz, Sandy (Phil) Ciha; sister-in-law Chiranan Gau, 14 nieces and nephews and 21 great nieces and great nephews. Linda is also survived by her beloved friend, Mary “Gus” Geske.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores and her brother, Paul.
VISITATION: Linda’s family welcomes relatives and friends for a time of visitation to St. Peter Catholic Church, N8079 Church Rd, Malone, on Thursday, June 21st, 2018 from 10:00 to 10:45 AM.
SERVICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Cremation will take place after services, per Linda’s wishes. Linda will be buried with her mother at a later date.
