Lorraine Haase

Lorraine Jewson Haase passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loving family on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the age of 93. Lorraine was born on April 2, 1925 at St. Agnes Hospital and spent her life attending St. Paul’s Cathedral in Fond du Lac where she was baptized, confirmed and married. Lorraine graduated from Goodrich High School in 1944, worked at Hill’s Department Store and married Wilbert in 1947. Lorraine spent 25 years working at Fond du Lac Skyport as the office manager but everyone knew her as the lady in charge. During her 71 years of marriage Will and Lorraine lived on the same property enjoying the beautiful view of Lake Winnebago and all the wildlife that encompasses their surroundings.

Lorraine was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. In her early years Lorraine spent a lot of her time managing family life and entertaining people within the community. During her life she enjoyed spending time on their hunting property in western Wisconsin, fishing on Lake Winnebago, traveling to Cape Canaveral, Florida and Amelia Island, Florida. Will and Lorraine spent a great deal of time flying all over the country in their airplane or taking road trips in their RV. Lorraine loved the Green Bay Packers and would watch them religiously. She also enjoyed playing cards, cooking, shopping and hosting dinner parties for her friends and loved ones. Lorraine Haase was the purest example of love, grace, beauty and selflessness. She will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband, Wilbert Haase Jr. of 71 years; son, Bill (Carol) Haase; daughter, Victoria Dougherty; loving grandchildren, Colleen (Paul) Collins, Kristen (Tim) Healy, William (Tanya) Haase, Tyler (Marisa) Haase, and Ricky (Dana Gibson) Haase; great grandchildren, William, Zachary and Ryan Collins, Lorraine Elizabeth, Olivia and Roarke Healy, Owen and Camren Haase, Avery and Brynley Haase; along with her beloved yellow lab, Dolly.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Edna (Yeager) Jewson; her in-laws, Wilbert and Gertrude Haase; and her son-in-law, Thomas Dougherty.

At Lorraine’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place with private inurnment being held in Rienzi Cemetery at a later date.
